THE GEOGRAPHY OF CHESS

Hello today I am going to write about the geographical aspect of the world champions between (1886-1993)
This champions had fight against each other for their country each game was like a war to death between their countries.

This world Championship begins in  1886 with the victory of Wilhelm Steinz for Austria-Hungary and United States from 1886-1894 ,followed by the victory of Emanuel Lasker from (1894-1921) for Germany,it was won by Capablanca from 1921-1927 for Cuba , from 1927-1935 and 1937-1946 Alexander won for France and the Soviet empire,from 1935 to 1937 was won by Max Euwe for Netherlands,it was won from 1948-1972 by the Soviet Union showing a very powerful number of master chess players, Boby fisher won It from 1972-1975 for the United States ,from 1975-1985 was won by Karpov for the Soviet Union and from 1985-1993 was won by Kaspárov for the Soviet Union and Russia.

Of this world championships my favourite player is the Russian Garry Kasparov because of defeating Karpov when he was just 22 years old and because of him been very brave by playing for the first time against the IBM machine Deep Blue.

The name "chess"

THE NAME "CHESS"

Hello today I am gong to write about why chess is called chess.

The chess was taken up by the Muslims after the conquest of Persia. The Moors turned in to shatranj as shaṭerej, which made the Spanish ajedrez.In Portuguese it was quite similar  xadrez, and in Greek zatrikion, however the rest of Europe used version of  ("king").It was called ludus scacchorum in Latin, scacchi in Italian, escacs in Catalan which was a dialect of Spanish , echecs in French ,schaken in Dutch, Schach in German, szachy in Polish, sahs in Latvian, skak in Danish, sjakk in Norwegian, schack in Swedish, sakki in Finnish, sah in Slavic languages, sakk in Hungarian and şah in Romanian; there are two theories about why this change happened:

1. It could come from the first chessmen known bringing ornamental chess kings brought in as curios things by Muslim traders.

2. Or it possibly comes from "check" or "checkmate" of what the people said in a lot of countries as It said nowadays.

 The Mongols call the game shatar, and in Ethiopia it is called senterej, both evidently derived from shatranj.
Chess spread directly from the Middle East to Russia, where chess became known as шахматы (shakhmaty, literally "checkmates", a plurale tantum).
It was introduced into the Iberian Peninsula by the 10th century.
Chess was spread principally by traders.
By the 15th century it almost take the shape of the nowadays chess.

Is Russia the best country playing chess?

Why?

The theory says that the best country playing chess is Russia, I think that this happens because as Polgar's father did the chess is educated in chess ,they have lot more clubs and lots of chess facilities so the grand masters and students begin learning very young which is the best and easiest time to learn ,It's also true that Russia is the biggest country having nearly twice the area in km(17.100.000) and has the 11.5% of the total earth surface which is still growing with Crimea.

Other countries:
In the top we can also see India this could be because it was originated there and it could be also explained because of the fame that has of having good mathematicians.

America is also in the top 10 this could be because is the fourth largest country on the world.From my point of view the best country playing chess is Russia because of the well-educated population.

The spread of chess

Hello my name is José Juan and I am going to write about the geography of chess originally called chaturanga which means "four divisions (of the military)": cavalry, infantry,elephantry, and chariotry.
The chess is a mental war in which the blood is not shed .

THE SPREAD OF CHESS

You will ask yourself how Chess got to Europe? Here is the answer.
The chaturanga flourished in India by the 6th century after that this game spread to Persia.When the Arabs conquered Persia, chess was taken up by the Muslim world and subsequently spread to Southern Europe. In Europe, chess evolved into roughly its current form in the 15th century.

The chees origins

MYTHS AND LEGENDS

There is a legend that tells that the chess was created by the god Euphron and that Ares gave It as a present to the nymbh Casia to win his affection.
The geographic aspect of this myth is that the people used to think that this was a part of the Gods world and that was created in their world.
